Dan and Diann Bastien established Daniel’s Song, a nonprofit Foundation after the untimely death of their son Daniel, at 17, in order to reach out to other young adults and provide opportunities.
Daniel’s Song is a non-profit 501(3)(c) company.
Classes are free to students . We accept donations from student’s parents or schools to sponsor their certificate and OSHA registration cards .
Students are never refused if they cannot donate or the school is unable to help with cost .
Not all students are at risk and any student may apply for our program. But we target those young adults that most likely are bullied or face current peer pressure . If these at risk teens have something to reach for feel accomplished and confident … they then are less likely to give into peer pressure drugs , bullying and suicide. DJ spoke to me often about why he wished other teens could have the opportunity he was given . He had a fresh start .
